International Women’s Day!

Posted on: March 7, 2011 by Nataliya Volosovych | No Comments
Dear Ladies!
As it is well-known in ex-Soviet republics, 8th of March is an International Womenโ€™s Day. It says nothing to our fellow ladies in the United States, Canada, and the entire Latin America. It turned out that this holiday, which I personally consider a leftover of the Soviet era, is recognized in Europe and even somewhat celebrated.
I decided if this is so and if people of Ukraine still celebrate this holiday, here is a piece of Spring to you all, lovely girls, daughters, girlfriends, wives, moms, and grandmas! From my heart to you all in all the different corners of the world (even if you have no clue what this holiday means โ€“ see this link to Wiki)!

Happy Women's day to you, too!!! May your heart be filled with love and may spring bring you warmth, smiles, and good spirit! Sending you love and some Floridian sun rays ๐Ÿ™‚
PS: I think one of the biggest surprises I have had in the United States holidays-wise was when back in 2007 on March 8th two girls stopped by our medical clinic and brought in chocolate and tulips for all women in honor of the "Woman's International Day"- I have to say I was the only one in the office who had an idea about what the girls were talking about ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you very much, Livy! It is funny indeed that something like this happened in the US ๐Ÿ™‚ I bet many American girls who were in the hospital still remember that spring!

Probably ๐Ÿ™‚ I still congratulate all the women physicians in our clinic on March, 8th- they celebrate mother's day here, but many of them are not mothers, so they are happy to know there is a "woman's day" just because you are a woman ๐Ÿ™‚ Tzeluiu vas s daljnevo Gainesville-a, Livika

This is an amazing picture of what we saw in Brabant. Seeing the wild flowers just in the forest or in a park gives a true feeling in spring, change of seasons (something we missed in Florida where one has only the "degrees of summer").

Thank you for the compliment, my dear Vadym! It is indeed a photo I took in city called in short Den Bosch during our trip this last weekend.

I definitely miss spring, too! Particularly the wild flowers, which you have so amazingly pictured here ๐Ÿ™‚ I also love "podsnezjniki", "lavanda" i "sireni"- and Florida is not a welcoming place for these flowers ๐Ÿ™‚ We have at least some daffodils, irises, tulips, …and I even bought Anya for March 1st a pot of crocus ๐Ÿ™‚ Keep us posted with the beauties of spring! Much love, Livica

Livica, I also missed all of these flowers while in FL and it is funny that you asked for more because my next post will be about spring as you remember it from your Motherland! Stay turned!
