Spectacular Milan!

Posted on: April 24, 2013 by Nataliya Volosovych | No Comments

I consider myself so lucky to live in Europe! I hop on an airplane in Rotterdam and in around 2 hours I am in Milan! It is financially the most important city in Italy. I agree — it is not considered to be as beautiful as some other Italian cities. However, I feel there are some similarities in the destiny of this city and Rotterdam – having been greatly destroyed by Second World War bomb raids, the city has rebuilt itself into a thriving business capital. It’s a paradise for shopping, opera, and nightlife.
Here I present to you most famous historical sights of this city: the Duomo (I consider it the most beautiful example of Gothic architecture I saw so far in Europe), the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele (an ancient and glamorous arcaded shopping gallery in the heart of the city), the Castello Sforzesco (a grand medieval castle), S. Maria delle Grazie (which contains one of the world’s most famous paintings – Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper”), and a statue of da Vinci at the Piazza della Scala (the building of La Scala, one of the best established opera houses in the globe, was very unimpressive for me and hard to photograph without spoiling the photos with wires and other intrusive street objects).

Only in the fashion city you will see gazillions of hill impressions in the melted asphalt of the pavements
